Walk: along the Forest Island Path in the Royal National Park at the southern end of Lady Carrington Drive. We understand that this area takes on a very different character in the hue of the afternoon sunlight in autumn.
In addition to a great diversity of flora, in 1922, when the then National Park Trust issued a timber cutting permit for the Forest Island area, this location became notable for its role in the mobilization of a number of individuals and organisations to champion the central values of flora conservation.
We will meet at the usual place near the Sutherland Leisure Centre, adjacent to the “Mad Mile” at 1 pm for a car pool or at 1.30 pm at the southern stone gateway entrance to Lady Carrington Drive. |
